Once again the catholic church is in the media – it is a daily occurrence - regarding priests who either possess and view child pornography, or who have engaged in instances of molesting or raping children. The Dutch catholic church is currently overflowing with complaints of predator priests, a catholic bishop in Ottawa, Canada, is facing sentencing for the possession of child pornography, and comments are resurfacing with respect to certain acts of pedophilia that are being regarded by at least some in the catholic church as just being homosexual in nature because they involve post-pubescent boys. This blog post will be concerned with the second issue: that of bishop Raymond Lahey who is facing sentencing for possession of child pornography.

George Carlin, in my books, is one of the very best comedians and social commentator’s we, as a species, have been fortunate enough to have had. Carlin’s passing came far too quickly, and not only for us. He had a great many things still planned – including more of his iconic HBO Specials. Read the rest of this entry →
