I am undertaking a research project to better understand the various religious and non-religious positions and beliefs people have, as well as how these beliefs influence:

  • how people interact with others;
  • how people believe States should be governed in relationship to religion;
  • what people believe the relationship between religion and education should be;
  • what legal rights members of the TBLG community (transgendered, bisexual, lesbian, gay and queer) should be; and,
  • is the religious indoctrination of children a form of child abuse. Read the rest of this entry →

Things are really getting heated in the State of Illinois with respect to the State and the catholic church. Back in January, Illinois Governor Pat Quin signed into law the Illinois Religious Freedom Protection and Civil Union Act (IRFPCUA) which does not grant members of the TBLG community the right to marry, but it does give them the right to enter into civil unions; the IRFPCUA came into force on June 1, 2011. In addition to allowing members of the TBLG community to enter into civil unions, it also made it against the law for organizations receiving public money to deny adoption and foster care services to unmarried straight couples or TBLG couples. But now, in addition to fighting to have the State reverse its position on adoption and Read the rest of this entry →

Flag of the Vatican City

To say that I have problems with the catholic church and all of its bullshit, really is putting it mildly. Below is a short list of some of the very terrible things the catholic church, via the Vatican (and pope Ben-the-Dick), has been up to as of late. This list comes from my post More catholic Bullshit.

  • raping little boys and girls, covering it up and refusing to comply with legal requests to disclose all information pertaining to child abuse, including information obtained in the confessional;
  • the Vatican Bank being investigated for banking fraud;
  • preferring people die in Africa than allow them to use condoms to prevent the spread of HIV and AIDS;
  • trying to have proposed UN legislation regarding ensuring homosexuals have their rights protected by trying to argue that their homosexuality only pertains to their thoughts, not their behaviours/actions; and,
  • getting out of providing adoption and fostering in States that makes it illegal to discriminate against homosexuals (and unmarried straights). Read the rest of this entry →

Sexually Abused child.

Over the past month I have been covering the abuse of the catholic church in Ireland, particularly as it relates to the Cloyne Report, which implicates numerous priests in the diocese of Cloyne of the systemic, ongoing sexual abuse of children that lasted decades. The response from Enda Kenny and the Dail, in light of these allegations concerning the catholic clergy and other information pertaining to the government’s own misconduct in the area of child welfare, has been to crack down on the abuse of children. One of these measures includes making it mandatory for all persons to report suspicions of the abuse of children, including sexual abuse; this includes Read the rest of this entry →

Pedophile Christian Brother Robert Charles Best

If you are at all familiar with the affairs of the catholic church, then you are all-too-well familiar both with members of the clergy who are pedophiles and other members of the catholic clergy who cover-up their shameful conduct and protect the sick fucks. Well, just two days ago, one of these bastards was sentenced. Robert Charles Best, a member of the Christian Brothers (a community within the catholic church), was sentenced to 14 years in prison for the sexual abuse of eleven young boys. This miserable, no good piece of shit, raped and tortured little boys who were supposed to be able to trust him. This means that Best, who is presently 70 and protests his innocence, will be Read the rest of this entry →
